L3Harris Technologies has been selected to provide the Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS) for the future Miecznik-class frigates, which will be incorporated into the Polish Navy.
The contract is part of Poland’s naval modernization program, aimed at strengthening the country’s maritime defense.
The system will be installed on the ships built by state-owned PGZ Stocznia Wojenna and will be designed to improve the vessels’ operational performance, reliability, and safety. According to the company, the technology will also help extend the frigates’ range and autonomy during missions.
L3Harris highlighted that the IPMS used on the Polish frigates brings together technologies developed in cooperation with navies from countries such as the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Australia, and Canada. The company also said the system has already been delivered for around 300 vessels in 28 naval forces around the world.
The Miecznik-class frigates will be based on the Arrowhead 140 design, developed by Babcock International. The new ships are expected to modernize the Polish fleet, increasing the Polish Navy’s situational awareness, operational efficiency, and combat capabilities.
